PAF flies relief goods for ‘Odette’ victims

THE Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) Air Logistics Command based in Clark Air Base successfully hauled and delivered relief goods for victims of Typhoon Odette in the Visayas and Palawan.

The goods, donated by the City Government of Angeles headed by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, consisted of 66 sacks of rice, 200 boxes of sardines, 36 boxes of diapers (all sizes), 1,390 pieces of sanitary napkins, more than 3,000 bottles of mineral water, 308 boxes of assorted canned goods, 160 boxes of hygiene kits, 20 boxes of tooth paste, 31 boxes of instant noodles, 30 boxes of Vitamin C, 30 gallons (3.2 liters) of alcohol, 600 sachets of instant coffee, 30 sachets (320 grams) of Bear Brand milk, 30 kilos of brown sugar, 30 bottles of soy sauce, 30 bottles of fish sauce, 30 bottles of vinegar and 30 bottles of cooking oil.

The basic commodities for the typhoon victims were accepted during turnover rites by Air Logistics Command Commander Major General Florante Amano and flown via PAF C-130 aircraft from Clark Air Base in Mabalacat City.

“Said acts of generosity are just among the positive outcome of the Command’s commitment to connect with different stakeholders in bringing efficient services to people especially in this trying times for the people who are in dire need of help. Very kind gestures that eventually create a huge impact for the betterment of the people and community,” Amano said. (JTD)
