MORE than 200 Aetas residing at the upland sitio of Dueg in San Clemente Tarlac received Covid-19 vaccines from the Provincial Government of Tarlac.

Governor Susan Yap said the provincial officials and health personnel finally reached the far-flung village, which is situated at the northern part of Tarlac, for the vaccination program dubbed Bakuna sa Barangay.

Hygiene kits and food packs, and other items were also distributed to the tribesmen during the vaccination.

Yap said 58 percent of the total population in said Aeta village received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

The governor, together with other local officials, also visited the agri-tourism farm in Poblacion Sur.

The province initiated the project last year to ensure that every barangay will have sufficient food for the residents in the event of lockdown.

“Itong protect na ito ay inumpisahan natin last year, September in the midst of Covid-19 [pandemic] dahil ang gusto ko ang bawat barangay mayroong pagkain kapag nag-lockdown,” Yap said.
