WE’RE three sleeps away from Halloween and everyone’s diving into the holiday spirit by getting their costumes ready for a night of spooktakular revelry. While many are anticipating the coming of Halloween for the countless fangtastic activities they can do, there are a few who prefer to spend a more quiet and peaceful Halloween that’s minus the partying, trick-or-treating and even dressing up. If you belong to this bunch, you might be surprised that there are actually other equally fangtastic ways to celebrate Halloween right in the comforts of your home, and here are five wicked ways to do so.

Binge-watch The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. The Haunting of Hill House is one of the trending horror programs on Netflix right now, and it’s just timely for Halloween. If you haven’t watched the series yet, the 31st will be the perfect day for you to binge-watch it and have the fright of your life, but only if you’re brave enough.

Transform your home into a horror house. Your house can use a bit of a Halloween makeover to blend in with your neighborhood. Some communities always put an effort to decorate their homes every Halloween, and you should too. You can find the fun in making your house look scary enough to invite trick-or-treaters even when you really don’t do trick-or-treating yourself. This way, your house can play the part for you.

Invite your friends over for a horror movie marathon. If the entire barkada, like you, wants to only spend Halloween at home, why not invite them over for a night of horror movie marathon? It’s always more enjoyable and less frightening to have your best buddies around for a movie marathon like this. Everyone can hide under the blankets altogether, especially during scary scenes with not a single person judging.

Play horror board games with your friends. While your friends are over at your house, take out your horror board games and give them a play. There’s always something sinister about playing the spirit of the glass or ouija board, but that’s exactly what makes these board games hair-raising. But make sure everyone doesn’t go overboard with them like how it is in movies, because in the end, they’re just plain board games.

Experiment with Halloween-themed recipes. Pretend you’re a witch concocting your own recipe, except that what you’re cooking is actually edible and not deadly. There are many Halloween-themed recipes you can find on the internet that are easy to follow, and from there, you can add your own little twist. It’s fun to experiment in the kitchen while you carefully plate and design each dish that will resemble anything Halloween.
