IT’S that time of the year again when beer enthusiasts and German fare lovers get to enjoy alcohol and food to their heart’s content.
Oktoberfest is a time of drinking, eating and dancing — traditionally celebrated for just a span of two weeks — but at the Queen City of the South, we celebrate it for the whole month of October. Spreading glee around the city, these hotels, restaurants and sports bar are joining in on the fun with their own way of bringing Oktoberfest revelries in our hometown.
Treff
What’s an Oktoberfest without beer? Merrymaking during this time of month is usually best enjoyed with beer and what better way to commence the celebration than with a private function with family and friends around. Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino’s Treff with its all-white and glass-encased bar will bring one closer to the sky and have an encounter with the stars. It’s even made better with free-flowing beverages with a choice of San Miguel Light or Pilsen Beer Tower, but one doesn’t have to worry about drinking with an empty stomach because Treff also serves ingenious gourmet bites. All roads lead to Quest Hotel & Conference Center for the entire month of October because at Pusô Bistro & Bar, it’s not just happy hour. It is happiest hours. When one drink isn’t enough, why not take two? Pusô Bistro & Bar is serving Buy 1 Take 1 on standard drinks, cocktails and local beers every 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. Whether one is sipping cocktail for an afternoon delight or savoring a glass of wine to cap off the night, Pusô Bistro & Bar assures one of a good, quality time. But if one wants to sip and swim, one can head to the hotel’s pool bar at 8 to 10 in the evening. For reservations, call 1405.
The Pig & Palm
Booze plus music is always a good idea and there’s no perfect place to enjoy these than at The Pig & Palm. Fridays at The Pig & Palm, the first modern European tapas-style restaurant and bar has gotten more beatific with its Friday Night Live Sessions. Doors open at 9 p.m. onwards and one better be on his toes because a delightful treat awaits the early birds. San Miguel Beer is priced at two for one from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. If one wants to save up on some cash for a long night of merriment ahead, this might solve just that. End one’s busy week on a joyful note and spend Fridays at The Pig & Palm located at MSY Tower, Pescadores Road Cebu Business Park.
Handuraw Pizza Mango Square
The home of the one of the best-tasting thin crust Cebuano pizzas won’t be the last to join in on the festivities. Handuraw has always been the number supporter of local artists and musicians which makes them more than just a pizza place, but also a venue where Cebuanos can showcase their talent. But this October, Handuraw offers a special treat for all pizza lovers who wish to take home with them a box of pizza. For every take out order of their solo size pizzas, patrons will get a 20 percent discount. Handuraw’s pizza is always best paired with any of their wide selection of beers, and it won’t hurt to take out maybe a beer or two. It’s Oktoberfest anyway.
League Sports Bar
Set up as a spot where sports enthusiasts can gather for a night of entertainment and activities, League Sports Bar provides game and sports services for everyone. Labeled as a full-size sports bar, League is hosting an Octobeer Fest Game every Friday for the month of October where guests are asked to participate in a challenge like drink beer in a funnel. The sports bar also has weekly challenges such as the billiard, beer pong and dart challenge. On Mondays and Tuesdays, customers get to enjoy their 5+1 promo at only P280 per set.
