Pet-friendly Places in the Metro

PETS deserve all the love and affection they would need, as well as unique spaces where they could roam around and exercise their little legs and socialize with other animals. Thankfully, there are spots around the metro where pets could peacefully enjoy space, where they could do their daily walks with their owners, or even just hang out with their humans in comfort.
Be it doggos or meowers, pet owners should give their babies a break and let them roam in a secure place and socialize. SunStar Weekend lays out five pet-friendly spots that would surely make your pooch or kitty a happy one.
Parkmall
Ouano Ave., North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City
It’s been eight years since Parkmall became the go-to place for pet lovers. Pets of all shapes and sizes have been welcomed to its doors, but most importantly, the homegrown mall has become a trailblazer in hosting various activities, events and programs that greatly benefit pets and pet owners.
Most recently, they hosted the Pet Festival Philippines Year 2 last May, a glorious showcase of all kinds of pets from hamsters to birds to chickens to dogs and cats and even fishes, iguanas, you name it. A meeting of all like-minded pet lovers, the diverse festival was jam-packed with activities like a hamster relay race, dog fashion show and countless others.

The spacious mall has a lot of room for your pets with its Happy Pets Club, where pet owners could register their lovely pooch. They even have a little ID for your doggos!
Being part of the club has, of course, a lot of perks with events like free anti-rabies vaccinations, pet blessing, animal shows, interactive seminars on being a responsible pet owner and not to mention the freebies and discounts from the mall. What’s also great about the mall is they have designated pet water fountains, perfect for post-walking hydration.

If you’re looking for a unique place for your pets to frolic, SM Seaside City’s Sky Park is the place for your paw-some pals.
The Sky Park not only caters to tiny humans but their pets as well! Pets can roam around the sprawling and well-manicured park and play with their human best friends. Take a leisurely stroll with your dog at the Sky Play and have him play with his tiny human bestie at its whimsical and playful structures.

The Greenery

The commercial center could be a great food trip destination, but the huge open grass area at the back is perfect for a pooch to run, jump and just play on a nice day. It was recently filled with the pugliest pugs for the Cebu Pugfest, a gathering of pug lovers where these sad-looking doggos had the time of their lives with the pug pools, a costume contest as well as a pugliest pug contest.
The alfresco areas of The Greenery could very well accommodate you and your pet on its downtime. Any of their restaurants can serve you as you unwind with your pup and enjoy their mouthwatering menus at open air.

Lovey Doggy Café

Aside from getting to meet the cutest bunch of dogs at Lovey Doggy Café, dog owners can also chill or work at the café whilst bringing their beloved pooch. All they have to do is present an updated veterinary card of your dog and you can have playtime with your pup at the café, provided that dog parents will be responsible for their pets.
Love Doggy also has a pet hotel. Dog owners could leave their babies at the loving care of the café for a daily or hourly fee, and the little doggy would be able to roam free at the cute hotel/café.
