A Plantation of excitement (Conclusion)

SO we decided to walk back to our room to get ready for dinner that was going to be served at Orion Beach, just right next to our building. As we passed by, the staff was busy preparing for the night’s theme, Viva España which was going to open at 6:30pm. In one corner, lechon was roasting and its smoke was so inviting, our feet led us to it.

Much to our surprise the lechon was black! I told the roaster that he had overcooked the lechon! He immediately told me that it wasn’t. They call it their famous Black Lechon, a special recipe by the owner of Plantation Bay himself. The guy let me try the black skin. Its crunch and flavor got me salivating in an instant. And after all the paddling and swimming that afternoon, I couldn’t hardly wait for dinner!

Segway!
Segway!

At 6 p.m., the dining area was packed and at 6:30 p.m., dinner was served.

Sasha Belamia, Plantation Bay’s Food and Beverage Manager joined us for dinner. We had such a great time reminiscing our experiences in Planation Bay as teenagers while enjoying the delicious Spanish dishes in the buffet spread like the Spanish Style Ham, Verde con Camaron, Paella Valenciana, and of course, their famous Black Lechon!

The main act started at 7 p.m. and everyone at the audience was in awe of the energetic performances of the Plantation Bay staff, complete with a very attractive set design and colorful, stunning costumes!

We were excited to wake up early the following day as we wanted to try the Segway amongst the many other amenities of the resort. It was going to be our first time and I have waited for this day to come since its invention.
But before anything else, we couldn’t miss the breakfast buffet. The theme for the day was Filipino! And we all know that the best breakfast in the world is a Filipino breakfast!

We were stuffed and we walked to the firing range located just by the tennis courts, the archery area, the kid’s playground, and wall-climbing. It took us less than five minutes to learn how to use the Segway so we were going at it in no time.

A couple of couples drove by our area in their tandem bikes and shortly after, there was a couple who came by in a dreamy kalesa. It was turning out to be such a beautiful day and it got only better when Hannah called to invite us for lunch at Fiji Restaurant before heading back to reality.

We had the mouth-watering Wakame Salad for starters. Our main dishes were the Korean Chicken, Yaki Soba, and the giant Prawn Tempura. And even when we were all so full already, there is always room for dessert! Fiji boasts of their homemade ice cream with flavors like strawberry, jackfruit, vanilla, mango, and my personal favorite, chocolate peanut butter! The Baked Alaska looked beautiful but we couldn’t help but destroy it in an instant.

Our drive back home was spent raving about what an awesome time we had at Plantation Bay and planning what to do on our next visit. There are many other interesting theme dinners we want to try not only because of the food but especially because of the in-house performances that make the experience complete.

After years since my last visit at Plantation Bay, I only wonder why it is only now that I have come back.
