PATAFA head midepensa

GIPADAYAG ni Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) president Philip “Popoy” Juico ang iyang plano nga batukan ang desisyon sa Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) sa pagdeklarar kaniya nga persona non grata.

Ang desisyon sa POC adunay kalambigitan sa kontrobersyal nga nagpalibot kang Filipino pole vault Olympian Ernest John Obiena.

Sa programa sa ANC nga After The Fact, nagkanayon si Juico nga wala’y kapasikaran ang desisyon sa POC.

“Of course we will fight [the POC decision],” batbat pa ni Juico nga napatik sa www.rappler.com.

“When they asked me to attend a so-called clarificatory hearing, we attended, but we said that this is not within their jurisdiction.”

Human sa ilang imbestigasyon, ang POC Ethics Committee mipagawas og hukom nga gi-harass ni Juico si Obiena pinaagi sa malisyusong mga akusasyon.

Niadto pa lang Nobiyembre ning tuiga, dayag na sa publiko ang panagbikil nila ni Juico ug Obiena lakip na sa coach sa numero unong pole vaulter sa nasod nga si Vitaly Petrov.

Gipasanginlan ni Juico si Obiena sa dili saktong paggamit sa pundo nga 85,000 euros (P4.8 million) nga gitagana alang sa iyang Ukrainian coach.

Miinsister si Juico nga wala’y pagpang-harass nga nahitabo.

“It’s not me against [Obiena],” pasabot niya. “It’s the PATAFA itself, and the issues raised against him in the investigation that was conducted because of certain money matters. The harassment isn’t there.”
