Over 5,000 Fernandinos get Covid booster shots

IN A bid to further protect its residents from coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the City Government of San Fernando continues to give booster shots to eligible individuals.

As of December 24, the City Government reported that 5,219 individuals have already received their Covid-19 booster shots.

From the number, 3,364 were part of the A1 category or the frontliners, 700 were from A2 category or the senior citizens, 693 were from A3 category or persons with comorbidities, 452 were from A4 or the essential economic workers, and 10 were from the general population.

According to the Department of Health, booster shots could be administered to adults at least three months after the second dose of a primary two-dose vaccine, or at least two months after the primary single-dose vaccine.

Aside from booster shots, the City Government also continued to vaccinate individuals who have not received their first dose yet.

As of December 24, some 228,832 persons have already received their first dose of vaccine, while 203,309 were already fully immunized.
