THE Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office (Darro)-Central Luzon hosted a Harvest Festival with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (Darfo)-Central Luzon on a vacant lot at the Regional Government Center in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga recently.

The event was in partnership with Harbest Agribusiness Corporation and Known-You Seed Philippines.

The “May Buhay sa Gulay” project aims to make the vacant lots in the city profitable and eventually be able to supply vegetables to some residents of San Fernando and its neighboring municipalities.

The said project was inaugurated by Darro-Central Luzon, the agency that also allocated their vacant land for the said project, in collaboration with Darfo-Central Luzon that managed the production facility-greenhouse, drip irrigation system, training and other farm inputs.

Meanwhile, private company Harbest supplied pesticides, fertilizers, plastic mulch and other agriplus supplies. Known-You provided high-value crop seeds and planting materials for the said project.

The said agencies and private companies have already signed a Memorandum of Agreement regarding the “Buhay sa Gulay” project.
