PH active cases still below 10,000 for 6 days straight

THE Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, December 23, 2021, reported for the sixth day in a row active cases below 10,000, with only less than 300 cases added to the case count.
The DOH case bulletin on Thursday said active cases in the country were at 9,251, or only 0.3 percent of the total infections in the country.
Of the active cases 3,393 were moderate, 3,204 were mild, 1,797 were severe, 480 were asymptomatic, and 377 were critical.
The DOH also reported 288 fresh cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s total caseload to 2,837,903.
The positivity rate of the country was at 1.1 percent of the 32,118 tests conducted on December 21.
A total of 65 patients succumbed to the disease, which brought the country’s death toll to 50,981.
The case fatality rate stood at 1.80 percent.
The DOH also logged 270 recoveries on Thursday, bringing the total individuals who recovered from the disease to 2,777,671 or 97.9 percent.
The health department said 19 percent of intensive care unit beds, 23 percent of isolation beds, 11 percent of ward beds and nine percent of ventilators have been utilized.
