THE Municipal Government of Pulupandan is offering free charging and Wi-Fi connection to its residents affected by Typhoon Odette.

Mayor Miguel Peña, in a statement, said they have turned on the Fiber Internet Public Wi-Fi at the town’s Grandstand Area and Auditorium.

He said vaccination cards are required before they allow entry to these areas.

“People may use their gadgets to contact their families and may continue their work (which was halted) due to disrupted electrical, internet and data,” Peña said.

“We are currently supplying power to all offices through generators, which must be rested at times but be assured (that) we are still providing government services,” the mayor said.

The auditorium, which is powered by the town’s generator, is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Anti-coronavirus disease (Covid-19) protocols are also being observed, such as the wearing of face masks and maintaining social distancing.

Peña said residents of Barangay Ubay may also charge their gadgets at the charging station he set up outside his residence from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Vaccination and identification cards are required for the residents who will go there, Peña said, adding that they also ensure that safety protocols are followed at the charging station outside his house.

Meanwhile, the lights on ceremony of the town’s Create a Christmas Tree competition themed “Winter Wonderland” will be held Wednesday, December 22 at 6:30 p.m.
