THE total damages brought by Typhoon Odette to infrastructure, utilities and agriculture in Cebu City has reached P1.7 billion, based on an estimate by the Bureau of Fire Protection.
This was revealed by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama during an inspection in the city Wednesday, December 22, 2021, together with the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Because of this, the Cebu City Goverment through the City Council passed a P1-billion recovery program to help the city rise from tragedy.
Rama said P1 billion is not enough, which is why he is reminding the national government about the billions-worth of contribution of Cebu City to the national treasury.
