RESIDENTS of Surigao del Sur whose homes were damaged by Typhoon Odette, the strongest cyclone that struck the country in 2021, will receive P10,000 to P20,000 financial assistance from the Provincial Government, Governor Alexander Pimentel said on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
Pimentel said the cash assistance will depend on extent of damage on the residents’ houses.
He said based on their initial assessment, 12 houses were destroyed in the province due to Odette, while 235 were damaged.
Over 140,000 individuals or 45,000 families were affected by Odette in Surigao del Sur.
One person was reported injured, added Pimentel. (SunStar Philippines)
