VICE presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said she is sympathizing with all the victims of Typhoon Odette in Bacolod City.
Duterte-Carpio visited Bacolod City and met with Grupo Progreso members led by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia along with the barangay officials at the Bacolod Government Center Monday, December 20, 2021.
“I sympathize with the Bacolodnons who were affected by Typhoon Odette. There were families who lost their homes because of the typhoon,” she said.
She added that she visited Bacolod City to personally greet Leonardia a merry Christmas.
Duterte-Carpio noted that she did not expect the number of Bacolodnons who welcomed her at the Bacolod Government Center.
“I’m very happy to be here in Bacolod and thank you very much for all the support. I wish that you will spend your Christmas with your family members and I hope that your Christmas will be peaceful and Covid-free,” Duterte-Carpio said.
Leonardia said it was a social visit, and the vice presidential aspirant also met with the city officials and 45 barangay captains.
“I think I see her as a sure winner for the vice presidency,” he said.
Leonardia added that for now, it is not yet final who they will support for president in the 2022 elections.
The mayor said he is a member of the Nacionalista Party.
Though it is not yet final who they will support for president, it’s very clear now that they are okay with Duterte-Carpio, he added.
