A brunch way of life is scheduling one with your friends on days when you’re feeling a bit fancy or simply when you’re in the mood for good brunch food. The brunch culture in Cebu is kicking that searching for establishments serving the best of brunch won’t be a problem. With a bevy of brunch choices around the city, we’ve rounded up six from the Best of Cebu winners where you can get your instant brunch food fix.

Abaca Baking Company

You can never go wrong with Abaca Baking Company if you’re looking for a light and healthy or heavy and hearty meal. A standout from its lineup of home-style brunch dishes is its signature Bakery Benedict. This is a plate of toasted English muffins topped with two poached eggs drenched in tarragon hollandaise. You can choose from smoked salmon, shaved ham, crispy bacon or corned beef to go with it. The best thing about this dish is that it already comes with a side of greens. Now that’s one healthy and hearty brunch served at the Best Breakfast and Best Artisan Bakery of 2016.

Yolk Coffee and Breakfast

Yolk Coffee and Breakfast is a cafe where the menu is centered on the creative idea of incorporating eggs in every dish. Among its many inventive dishes and new offerings is the Salted Egg Chicken Zilog. This bestseller starting from its smell alone is already mouthwatering but once tasted is creamy, salty and juicy all at the same time. This meal goes perfectly with the cafe’s house blend coffee which won Best House Blend Coffee of 2018.

SaladStop! is for the health-conscious bruncher who wants a scrumptious yet healthy meal. The Best Salad Place of 2018 is of course known for its signature salads but another option would be its warm grain bowls that are equally packed with nutrients like its Chihuahua made of quinoa, rocket leaf, red kidney bean, avocado, cherry tomatoes, jalapeño and cheddar cheese with chipotle vinaigrette.

Café Sarree

Nothing beats the taste of home and Café Sarree hits close with its gourmet take on an all-day breakfast menu made with a whole lot of love. Brunch at the Best Breakfast Place of 2018 won’t be complete without a plate of its Fancy Loaded French Toast. The sweet-crusted toast filled with ham and cheese and served with whipped cream and maple syrup is a must-try.

The Best New Restaurant of 2017 remains as a contemporary dining place where the quality of food is given more focus and fresh new flavors are constantly created. Weekend’s latest addition to its well-curated all-day menu are its brunch specials. Savory dishes like the Mushroom Toast – shiitake and shimeji mushrooms, Gruyere cheese, foie gras scrambled eggs on a bed of buttered toast with arugula and onion salad on the side – are the game changers in brunching.

Luncheonette is not only home to The Best Burger of 2016 as it also houses the biggest breakfast. The Luncheonette Big Breakfast is a plateful of two eggs (cooked in any style), herb-roasted potatoes, crisp bacon, country sausage, buttered toast, roasted tomatoes and breakfast beans. If that doesn’t sound filling enough, this big breakfast comes with bottomless coffee.
