YOU’D think sharing some clothing items with The PussyKat while traveling would take a lot of weight off our luggage but, no. We never take eyebags into consideration. We always hit just under the standard limits with clothing items packed as matched to a loose itinerary. We’ve learned to wear heavier pieces while in flight, too.
Our recent traipse around Taipei had me taking on the challenge of also wearing passably unisex items from the women’s brand Topshop. More than just an exercise to push the possibilities of luggage weight economy, it was an exercise of defining the articles of clothing versus letting these define the wearer.
Hi-waist happening with these striped paper bag pants from, yep, Topshop. Verts on verts against this bamboo installation at the elevator lobby of amba Taipei Songshan. Topman bumbag for all the tourist essentials.
Keeping it T-Pop casual for the Chinese Opera in this Ultra Skinny Suit from Topman with a plain tank and sneakers. Gone are the days when suits require a dress shirt and leather shoes to pair. The suit’s structure is softened by the ribbed-knit innerwear,, and casual elegance brought into the mix with clean white sneakers.
I made room for the massive eats around the nearby markets and restaurants and jumped on the volume wagon here in an oversized denim jacket and wide-legged cropped pants both from, yes, Topshop. Volume is making a comeback albeit more structured and cut-to-not-exactly-fit against plainly wearing items five sizes too big, as in the 90’s hip-hop era.
Shop runs were made extra comfortable in this Navy Zip Through Taping Smart Track Top and matching Smart Joggers with contrast stripes accent from Topman. The paired set create the illusion of length with the side stripes contributing to the cause.
Criminal Damage, “Simply Delivered.” Stood out to blend in with these yellow joggers with black side stripes plus a very utilitarian and on-trend bumbag all from Topman. Vetements DHL shirt from our Shanghai street insider.
Sun’s out, gams out. I’m rarely in shorts, but I wear them quite literally when I am. Kept cool in the somewhat sunny Taipei weather in these light blue Stretch Chino Shorts from Topman. This mid-rise pair fits true to size and is easy to move in with its combination cotton and elastane material. “Pastel Pieces, Tailored For Summer” in this “Sweet Look” with this Lilac Textured Muscle Fit Long Sleeve Shirt. The top in a smart style, textured material, and classic collar is closely fitted but with added stretch for comfort. Hugh Heifer here milks some of the art for all its worth.
