A keto diet is well known for being a low carb diet, where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. By lowering the intake of carbs, the body falls into a state known as ketosis, a natural process the body initiates to help us survive when food intake is low. The main goal of this diet is to force your body into this metabolic state. This is possible through a starvation of carbohydrates. One needs to cut down on rice consumption (which means going for “unli rice” is a no-no).
