John Hardy’s elegant, iconic collections return with a fresh approach for Spring. With focus on gemstones this season, John Hardy debuts the Magic Cut, Celestial Orb, and Orb rings, which celebrate the powerful natural beauty and wonder of gemstones.

So what makes every John Hardy piece powerful, dramatic, and inspiring? Radiant with the creative force of the artisan, each sculpted work draws on sacred symbols, from the contouring of precious metal to the patterning of alluring stones. All these hand-crafted with the environment in mind and in line with the jewelry maker’s pursuit of “sustainable luxury,” which has given the brand international recognition.

Everything began when John Hardy visited Bali in the early ‘70s and was enchanted by the island’s sublime beauty. There, the Canadian visionary founded his eponymous brand in 1975 in collaboration with an authentic collective of local artisans. Since then, it has remained passionately committed to community, artisanship and sustainability with each master artisan still crafting every single piece of jewelry by hand to date.

“John Hardy has a very serious commitment to the environment,” said Director of Marketing and Communications of John Hardy Asia Pacific Janice Leung on the brand’s corporate social responsibility.

“A portion of the proceeds from the Bamboo collection goes to planting bamboo seedlings in Bali. To date, we have planted close to a million bamboo seedlings in Bali, which is six times the size of New York’s Central Park. Additionally, we use reclaimed silver and gold, and gemstones sourced under best practices for every piece of jewelry we craft,” added Leung, who flew in from Hong Kong along with Godfrey Hung, General Manager of John Hardy North Asia, and graced the brand’s unveiling at Rustan’s last July 6.
