Waterfront Cebu City welcomes a year of prosperity and luck

TRADITIONAL Ceremonies and Grand fireworks display were shown on the eve of Chinese New Year at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, where honoured guests and personalities gathered to witness such an impressive event.

Guests of honor for the ceremonial dotting of the Lion’s eye were Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama, Michel Lhuillier and Amparito Lhuillier of M.Lhuillier Group of Companies, Mary Ann Alcordo, Vice Mayor Edgar Labella, Ms. Marl Gayo the Ms. Cebu 3rd runner up and Mr. Grant Raymond Sefferies, Waterfront General Manager.


The Wushu Federation of the Philippines-Cebu wowed guests young and old with traditional performances such as the lion and dragon dance, wushu kung fu fan dance, and fireworks display synchronized with music.

The Grand Lobby’s main display is the Fountain of Luck, which incorporates the Year of the Monkey theme. As a way of thanksgiving, guests were treated to an international cuisine at Cafe Uno. (Caryl Louise Manayon, USJ-R Intern)
