Be Grand Resort Bohol: the resort experience redefined

BOHOL may sound all too familiar and near, yet a trip to this island of diverse attractions both natural and man-made never disappoints. What’s more, it has always something refreshing to offer, and this time around the newest gem to dot Bohol’s beautiful landscape is the Be Grand Resort in Panglao Island.

This exclusive five-hectare hotel development offers guests a secluded sanctuary yet allows easy access to the island’s numerous wonders. That means it’s perfect for a quick weekend getaway or, better yet, for a leisurely escapade for the coming holidays. Want to explore the island?

Let the Tour Desk help with your itinerary. Want a cursory visit to the famous Alona Beach? It’s just less than a kilometer away, close enough for a quick return trip back to the hotel to avoid the crowds.

Yet the hotel in itself has world-class facilities for rest and recreation, enough to keep you preoccupied or relaxed the whole time.

There’s a gym with state-of-the-art working equipment, an expansive outdoor swimming pool and the 500-square-meter The Spa, with gift shops to provide you with your recreation needs (check out their cool Blood Red gear). For some essential diving or beginners’ lessons, the guys at Scotty’s Dive can help you out. Or, you can just laze at the scenic beachfront whose natural landscape has been preserved, and watch the late afternoon break into various hues of orange as the sun sets placidly in the horizon.

Then there’s the food: with F&B Director Valerio Malucelli and Sous Chef Elmar Patok at the helm, the gustatory experience at Be Grand Resort can be rewarding. Your biggest dilemma would be choosing from among the four dining outlets that each offers diverse culinary experiences.

For that gastropub feel, there’s The Food Hall with its East-meets-West menu (grab some of their craft beer from Cebu’s very own Cebruery).

Indulge in the middle of the pool at the Bridge with their cocktails, drinks and comfort food in a casual pool bar atmosphere. Or head out to the resort’s edge at Monkey Bar — don’t let the name fool you, though, a romantic setting can be had at this beach front restaurant with cocktails, grilled seafood and ala carte dishes. And for a more chillaxing experience with an unobstructed view of the sea, Lune is the open air lounge to be.

What takes the cake at the resort, though, are the luxurious accommodations.

Developed by Cebu-based Enrison Holdings Inc. of the Benedicto family, Be Grand Resort has 188 furnished rooms ranging from 38 to 75 square meters of plush comfort and breathtaking views of the ocean or pools. For more exclusivity and spaciousness, then The Villas — ensconced amid pristine waterways in the resort — might just make you wish you could stay longer.
