CEBU’S food writers, lifestyle columnists and bloggers were among the first to try Marco Polo Plaza’s delightful spread of Filipino dishes that the hotel prepared in time for the Philippine Independence Day festivities. Launched on June 10, Independencia: A Tribute to Heroes not only highlighted Filipino cuisine classics, but those that particularly had been the favorites of Filipino heroes.
Under the guidance of culinary guru Jessica Avila, the hotel’s culinary team created a selection that included Jose Rizal’s favorite, the tinolang manok; Andres Bonifacio’s lechon manok sa saha ng saging; Gregorio del Pilar’s Arroz ala cubana; Apolinario Mabini’s uttong balotong and many more. All of which were served on top of Cafe Marco’s international buffet throughout the week.
The launching was also marked with a performance art montage and a traditional dance presentation by the Cebu Theater Dance Company directed by Angelo Moreno. (FSE)
