I AM not a gambler but Vegas always has this charm that keeps me coming back. In this particular trip to the States, my sisters and I decided to go on a road trip to the Sin City. We gave ourselves three days and two nights to explore the new hotels, see old friends, and try out exceptional food joints around town.

My sister Marissa is an elite Yelper. Yelp is a popular app used in the US to help its users find great businesses within their area based on the reviews written about them. My sister has written over 450 reviews on Yelp and has been deemed an elite Yelper based on the reliability of her reviews and fan base.

So, we rely on her in finding food places of interest in any of our destinations, and one of them on our long list is Mr. Mamas, known for serving hearty breakfast plates for the family and well, to the hung over.

After a fun night with the Madera siblings (good friends from back home who now live in Vegas), nothing sounds more perfect than a big, full plate of Chicken Fried Steak with eggs, hash browns and sour dough toast. The maple-infused gravy was just exceptional! We wished we had ordered only two plates, though, instead of three since it was quite a lot.

We also got a side salad with balsamic vinegar and some delicious homemade chili to share. And my older sister May got the Cali Omelet that had cheese, sour cream, sausage, Pico de Gallo, and avocado.

Just reading the ingredients on the menu made us all so eager. And we were very happy that the food came in less than 10 minutes as we were all starving.

All of us left the place with happy stomachs, ready to seize the day under the scorching Las Vegas heat and, oh, to write a good review for Mr. Mamas: 5 stars!

Mr. Mamas has moved to a new location and is now located at 5693 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada. Check them out on Yelp.com for more reviews and more detailed information about the restaurant.
