Cebu’s newest lifestyle hub, The Social, opens

CEBU’S food savants and party aficionados gathered for an evening of exciting beginnings, as they welcomed and took part in opening the latest lifestyle destination in the city, The Social.

Owned and operated by Singapore-based Tadcaster Hospitality (TH), the restaurant and bar lounge promises a new pulsating social experience for Cebuanos, be it for dining or for a nightcap, with its selection of dishes and beverages, served amidst its vintage industrial chic interiors.

The opening night held last Aug. 14 was marked with free-flowing drinks and hors d’oeuvres, as guests celebrated the night away in good company and to music performed by top DJs.

Present during the celebration were representatives from TH, including the group executive chef Kacey Whatiri-Roberts, the genius behind the brand’s culinary concepts. The Social is the latest project of the New Zealand native, who previously trained under celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

To appease the Filipino palate, Whatiri-Roberts blended his personal taste with local flavors for The Social. Alongside him in the endeavor was Filipino chef, Joan Elaine Chiang, who assisted in sourcing the ingredients locally.

The Social is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and is located on the fourth floor of Ayala Center Cebu’s new expansion. It boasts of an all-day menu that has salads, pizzas, European and Australasian dishes, plus a selection of wines, beers, cocktails and spirits. (FSE)
