Cebu joins Fete de la Musique

CEBU joined hundreds of cities around the world in Fete de la Musique, a celebration and movement that originated from France and that’s meant to celebrate the gift of music.

A day before the June 21 main event, a pre-show was held at the gardens of La Vie Parisienne and The Pink House. Among those who performed were DJ Jon Attends, a French DJ who came to the Philippines just for the occasion, together with MadeByMachina, Alejandria Jazz, PopDays and Hardwood.

For the main event, Fete de la Musique was held simultaneously at La Vie Parisienne and The Pink House, the Ayala Center Cebu Terraces, and IT Park’s The Walk. The triple celebration showcased the best of Cebuano musicianship and artistry that encompassed different genres.

Some 25 musical groups and bands from all over Cebu and three bands from Manila performed along with DJ M.Mat, a French DJ who also flew to the Philippines for the occasion. (Bernadette Abangan, Sunshine Gelbolingo and Charlyn Uy Pepito, USJ-R Mass Comm Interns)
