Active Covid cases in Cagayan de Oro drop to 14

THE City Health Office reported on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, that Cagayan de Oro logged only three new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The relatively lower number of new cases recorded in the city in the past few weeks brought the number of active Covid cases down to 14, eight of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and six were outpatients.
According to City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, the three new local index cases consist of a 72-year-old male resident of Barangay Agusan, a 20-year-old male from Barangay Bugo, and a 51-year-old female from Barangay Consolacion.
The cumulative number of infections in the city is now at 20,445.
Cagayan de Oro also registered two new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as “recovered.” This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 19,580.
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remained at 851.
