THERE are no Covid-19 vaccine booster shots for children 12 to 17 years old, according to the City Health Office in Cagayan de Oro.

“Mga booster shots natin ito po ay binigbigay sa 18 years old and above. Walang booster shot na binibigay sa ngayon per advise of Department of Health sa 12 to 17 years old,” City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu said during the daily press conference at the city hall on Wednesday, December 29.

According to Yu, fully vaccinated individuals, except for those who received the Janssen vaccine, can get their booster shot three months after they were injected with the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

“For Janssen, dapat at least two months interval from your injection sa Janssen,” he added.

As of December 28, a total of 11,210 individuals in Cagayan de Oro have already received their booster shots.

The City Health Office also reminded the public to always wear their face masks even when they are out attending parties.

“Hindi bawal mag party, dapat lang kumain muna and then ilagay ang face mask then saka na mag-usap,” Yu said.
