Capitol to issue Essential Vehicle Pass
THE Cebu Provincial Capitol will issue an Essential Vehicle Pass that can be used at express lanes in gasoline stations and for the speedier travel of vehicles involved in rehabilitation efforts related to Typhoon Odette (Rai).
Sugbo News, the official news platform of the Cebu Provincial Government, said Thursday, December 23, 2021, that the passes were being issued on the request of Cebu’s mayors.
The vehicle pass may be used by government vehicles, private contractors involved in road clearing and other vehicles providing essential services.
Road clearing still needs to be undertaken in many areas in Cebu after Odette hit Cebu with sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 240 kph last December 16, toppling trees, houses and power lines.
Power has been restored in only a few parts of Cebu so far, which has affected the water supply and caused a skyrocketing in the demand for fuel for generating sets. (CTL)
