Merlgen posts 30% increase on sales target for 2021
“WE reached our target for 2021 with a 30% increase in our sales compared to 2020,” said Honeylet Lim, Merlgen Euro Designs, Inc. manager.
It’s a busy time for the homegrown modular cabinet specialist during this span of Covid-19.
With the population spending time indoors, home improvement and the creation of a home office with a “work from from” lifestyle proved to be profitable for the modular cabinet maker.
The pandemic period locked in the people. While homes were re-purposed to accommodate homeschooling and work, there was also the need to make spaced stress-free. Decluttering was necessary and smart storage systems were more vital than ever. Whatever is in the home should be functional.
The kitchen ranked number one on the list of contracts, counting both new installations and renovations, while home office set-ups came second.
“With the restrictions easing down, homeowners are more relaxed on having our vaccinated staff enter their protected spaces. This also accounts for the high volume of orders that were placed. As to new installations, new residences were quicker to finish construction with the increase of the workforce,” shared Lim.
Of the total contracted orders, 80 percent were served in Davao and 20 percent were out of town projects.
“Distance is not an issue and Merlgen will deliver the same best product and service wherever it may be,” said Lim.
