AT A glance, the air around us seems pretty clean. But the scary truth is that unbeknownst to us, there are matter diffused in the air that are harmful to our bodies—dust mites, particles from cleaning products, pet dander, disintegrated feces, fumes from paints and cooking—and yes, we are inhaling them. While it may not seem like an urgent matter of life and death, the quality of the air we breathe is crucial to our overall health. Dyson, a global tech company headquartered in the UK that champions improving air quality, has released yet another awe-inspiring piece of technology to clean our air.

With over 25 years of expertise in electronics, filtration and airflow, Dyson pushes the envelope even further and taking air filtration to a higher level with the new Pure Cool. This new product has a 360-degree fully-sealed filter system that removes gases and a Glass HEPA filter that captures 99.95% of microscopic allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1 microns.

Last September 14, the latest version of the Dyson Pure Cool was officially launched in Cebu at Ayala Center Cebu’s The Gallery area. In an interactive demonstration, Bobby Yan of Dyson showcased the revolutionary creation of Dyson at work, engaging some of the guests to try it out for themselves.

As presented by Yan, the key features of the new Dyson Pure Cool are broken down into three specific actions.

Sensing: the machine’s LCD display detects the indoor pollution that cannot be seen by the naked eye, reports it and responds seamlessly with a unique Dyson algorithm and then displays air quality readings.

Capturing: the Pure Cool’s new filter captures both particulate matter and gases. Dyson engineers have incorporated 60 percent more HEPA media into a taller and deeper filter, and they’ve introduced three times more activated carbon, which can absorb gases, odors, domestic fumes and VOCs—simply put, you can count on it to do a thorough job.

Projecting: Not only does it capture and purify air but it also projects air. With Air Multiplier technology and 350° degree oscillation, clean air is projected into every corner of the room—290 litres of purified air per second, to be exact.

The Pure Cool also comes with two settings: Fan and Diffused Mode. In Fan mode, a baffle stays in place to deliver a powerful, frontward stream of purified air. Cooling while purifying, this mode is best for the summertime. In Diffused mode, the baffle moves to block the front aperture, diverting air through the rear of the annular loop at a 45° angle. The diffused airflow uses less energy and generates less noise. Purification effectiveness is maintained, without the cooling airflow. Another feature is the Dyson Link app, which can track indoor and outdoor pollution, temperature and humidity levels, control the machine and see the remaining hours of filter life left. The app is available for iOS and Android.

Never one to stop innovating, Dyson guarantees its customers that with full Over the Air Update Capability (OTA), their machines are well-updated in terms of software, even after purchasing the machine.

The new Dyson Pure Cool and other products from Dyson are available at Rustan’s Ayala Center Cebu.
