YOU don’t need a man or woman to celebrate Valentine’s Day with, and no, this article isn’t for the bitter ones but for those who chose to live the single life and how they should righfully enjoy this romantic holiday just like how the rest of the world will. While some of you might picture out singles with a bottle of wine in their right hand and a pint of ice cream on the other, all the while sobbing in front of the televsion on Valentine’s Day, well, you thought wrong because this isn’t truly the case for many singles out there.
And who says Valentine’s Day is only meant for lovers? This day can also be the day for that long overdue “me time” or a day of pampering, both of which are ways of showing love, too, the important kind that is self-love. Being alone at some time in your life isn’t such a bad thing. It’s actually a great way to discover more of yourself and that is why you shouldn’t wallow in the idea of being single or alone on the 14th, and instead make this day special for you. Making everything positive for you on love day, SunStar Weekend lays out a few hangout places where you can happily celebrate Valentine’s Day alone or with some fellow singles.
There’s nothing quite like a nature fix and the best place to have that is at Fantasy Lodge. The fresh breeze and its marvelous view is a sure way to make this Valentine’s Day a special one. Retreat to the cliffs of the bird sanctuary town of Samboan and reconnect with mother nature to take a breather from the busy city life.
Take a sweet escape on the most romantic day of the month to this luxury destination that is Kandaya Resort. Nestled within the old town of Daanbantayan, here you are greeted by glistening waters and white sand beaches that instantly invite you to take a dip and bask under the sun the entire day.
There’s no better day to go on a solo adventure than on the 14th. Do away with the mainstream activity and find your way to Dao Falls in Samboan. Once there, you must first conquer a 30-minute trek to the magnificent falls, but rest assured after all the effort and sweat to get there, it will be worth it in the end once its breathtaking falls and pool is in sight.
The best way to have some me time is to take a trip to the spa and we know just the place where you can recharge and finally have that pamper day you’ve always longed for. Crimson Resorts & Spa’s award-winning and world-class Aum Spa will take all your wearies away with its reinvigorating massages that will make you feel renewed right after.
Ayala Center Cebu
You won’t be there to shop and you most certainly won’t be there for a sightseeing of couples on a date, but you’ll be there to eat to your heart’s content. Located right within the heart of the city, Ayala Center Cebu is home to an extensive selection of food outlets, making it the best mall for foodies. There’s no way too many restaurants to choose from and it’s getting harder to choose where to dine. But one thing is for sure, there’s always a restaurant that will match your liking.
Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island
A beach trip is always a good idea and why not go all out and spend it at Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island. This natural gem will leave every visitor in awe with its long stretch of unspoiled powdery white sand and crystal clear waters. Undoubtedly the best beach in all of Cebu, it’s easy to fall in love with the island and just on your first visit, you’ll already be thinking on when to come back.
Ibiza at Movenpick Hotel
Nothing can be more romantic than this: a hearty feast, lovely live entertainment and a stunning ocean view. Ibiza Beach Club is the rightful place when you want to enjoy a one-of-a-kind outdoor dining experience, be it with yourself or some friends. But for Valentine’s Day, it’s all going to be about you. Its impressive food options paired with great beats plus an incredible view will make for an intimate night of revelry.
