CEB flies Tandag!
JUNE 30 marked a momentous occasion for Tandag City, as Cebu Pacific sent off the maiden trip of its Tandag-Cebu route, the first commercial flight in and out of the city in five years. The newly launched route has made the capital of Surigao del Sur more accessible, and in effect nearby breathtaking eco attractions such as the Enchanted River, Britania Group of Islands, Tinuy-an Falls and many more.
The maiden flight departed Cebu at 11:10 a.m. and landed in Tandag at 12:15 p.m., which was followed with the return flight that departed at 12:35 p.m.
From Tandag, the ceremonial send-off was attended by Surigao del Sur Gov. Johnny Pimentel, Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Leticia Tan, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines chief finance officer Brig. Gen. Rodante Joya, and Cebu Pacific’s vice-president for airport operations Junard Cruz.
The route utilizes an ATR aircraft with seating capacity of 72. It is a thrice weekly service (MWF) and supplements the accessibility to the Caraga region, where Cebu Pacific is already operating flights to Surigao City, Butuan City and Siargao. (FSE)
