CIS wins first championship in international schools meet
THE Cebu International School won its first championship in the International Schools Activities Conference or ISAC held last Jan. 20 to 24 at The British School Manila in Taguig City. Seven contingents from different international schools all over the country participated in this annual tournament, which has gathered the best international schools in the country since 2004.

CIS joined Faith International Academy Davao, Brent International School Subic, Brent International School Baguio, Brent International School Manila, Southville International School and Colleges, and hosts The British School Manila.
CIS sent two teams for this season: the Girls Basketball Team coached by Ace Pierra and Jimbo Villarosa and the Boys Football Team coached by Oliver Colina and Warlloo Sabella. For the first time, both teams made it into their respective semifinal rounds, with the football team advancing to the championship match to win the title.

The CIS Boys Football Team, ended regular play undefeated with four wins and two ties, before convincingly defeating Brent Subic in the semifinal, 3-1. In the championship match, CIS defeated hosts British School Manila via penalty shoot-out, after the game ended 1-1 in regulation.

With the win, CIS stopped the five-year championship streak of The British School Manila. The team is mentored. (PR)
