Mabalacat ends 2021 with 426,000 Covid vax, 11,000 booster shots administered
THE Mabalacat City Government under the leadership of Mayor Crisostomo Garbo is capping the year 2021 with 437,209 total Covid-19 jabs administered.
Based on the city’s vaccination databank released by the Mabalacat City Covid-19 Response Integrated System (Cris), Mabalacat City has already administered a sum of 219,488 for the first dose, 206,226 for the second dose, and 11,495 for its booster shots program.
Garbo said the numbers comprise the inoculation of the city’s priority sectors, walk-in (residents and non-residents), missed second dose, and the pediatric population aged 12 to 17 years old.
In mid-December, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III announced that adults who received a primary two-dose vaccine may receive their booster shots three months after the second dose.
Meanwhile, recipients of a primary single-dose vaccine are eligible to receive theirs after two months.
To date, Mabalacat City continues to score zero on daily new coronavirus cases.
The city also has no active case as of December 29. Garbo attributed this to the intensified Covid-19 response and immunization program of the local government.
