He added that all oversized and overweight firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices (FCPDs), imported finished products, other unlabeled locally made FCPD products and other types of firecrackers with other brands or names equivalent to those that are prohibited are also not allowed.

The firecrackers regulated for sale and use are Baby Rocket, Bawang, El Diablo, Judas Belt, Paper Caps, Pulling Of Strings, Sky Rocket, Small Triangulo and other types which are not oversized, overweight and imported.

Pyrotechnic Devices or “Pailaw” allowed to be sold and used are Butterfly, Fountain, Jumbo Regular and Special, Luces, Mabuhay, Roman Candle, Sparklers, Trompillo and Whistle Device.

Baccay said the sale of illegal firecrackers outside firecracker zones is strictly prohibited and punishable under the law.

“Necessary penalties would be imposed on manufacturers and sellers if they are caught selling prohibited items,” he said.

He added that community firework display in local government units is encouraged as long as it adheres to Covid-19 protocols and should be done only in designated areas for safety purposes.
