San Fernando recognizes 4Ps best parent leaders

THE City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in San Fernando recognized on Tuesday, December 28, the efforts and contributions of national and local Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) parent leaders.

During its year-end assessment at the Heroes Hall on December 28, 2021, CSWDO named four members of both national and local 4Ps as “Best Parent Leaders” and awarded them P3,000 each.

“Sila yung katuwang ng Syudad sa pag-iimplement ng mga programs at services ng CSWD so this is just one way of showing that we value their efforts,” said Canneth Mangalus, CSWD Operations Division chief.

CSWDO also awarded P20,000 to Barangay Pandaras for clinching the “Best Community Garden” award; and, P6,000 to Annalyn Soria of Barangay San Agustin who bagged the award for “Best Individual Backyard Garden.”

All 4Ps beneficiaries also received meals and transportation allowances.

In 2015, through the leadership of Mayor Edwin Santiago, the local 4Ps was created to provide social assistance and development to qualified Fernandinos.

Santiago believes this program will help break the intergenerational poverty cycle by investing in the health and education of poor children.

As of Wednesday, December 29, there are 750 members of the local 4Ps and 2,800 members of the national 4Ps. They are beneficiaries of a quarterly allowance and various livelihood programs of the local government of San Fernando through the CSWDO. (PR)
