By Princess Clea Arcellaz

THE Incident Management Team of the City Government of San Fernando on Tuesday, December 28, made the rounds of designated stalls and retail stores selling firecrackers and fireworks to ensure safety and accident-free shopping for New Year’s Eve revelers.

The Incident Management Team, composed of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City of San Fernando Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Business License and Permit Division, City Public Order and Safety Coordinating Office, and Environmental Health and Sanitation Division, led the annual inspection of stalls and stores across the city, as revelers are expected to troop to authorized vendors starting December 29.

Among those that the joint inspection teams looked at are the shortage of stores in having different permits and following health and safety protocols, especially in fire prevention and possible Covid-19 infection.

Operation of retail stalls will last Friday, December 31.

The City Government also issued a list of firecrackers and fireworks that are allowed, regulated, and prohibited.

Allowed are Butterfly, Fountain, Lights, Long Live, Roman Candle, Sparklers, Trumpet, Whistle devices, and all kinds of “Pailaw” (pyrotechnic devices).

Those regulated include Baby Rocket, Garlic, The Devil, Judas’ Belt, Paper Caps, Pulling of Strings, Sky Rocket (Sparkle), Small “Triangle” and other types of firecrackers that are not oversized, not overweight, and not imported.
