ONE-HUNDRED percent of workers in accredited tourism-oriented establishments in Zamboanga City are fully vaccinated, the City Tourism Office said.
“We are happy to inform the public that the employees of different licensed accommodation facilities, restaurants and resorts that are accredited with the Department of Tourism (DOT) are 100 percent fully vaccinated,” City Tourism Office Sarita Sebastian said.
There are some 3,000 employees working in different tourism-oriented establishments in Zamboanga City, according to Sebastian.
She said all workers and employees of establishments catering to social activities and other events must be fully vaccinated pursuant to Executive Order 697-2021 penned by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.
Relative to the resumption of local tourism establishments, Sebastian reminded residents to do advance booking and reservations, particularly for tourist destinations such as Once Islas (11 Islands) and Santa Cruz islands.
The 11 Islands located east of Zamboanga City and Santa Cruz Island, which is south of downtown, are two of the major destinations to both local and foreign tourists.
The residents have been also reminded to observe proper protocols for the observance of social events, which require coordination with the office of Sebastian and the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO).
Sebastian said that under Alert Level 2, social activities may be undertaken at a maximum of 50 percent indoor venue capacity and 70 percent outdoor venue capacity. (SunStar Zamboanga)
