THE Globe Telecom has announced that its network services are back in Negros Occidental and four other areas in the Visayas including Capiz, Roxas, Catarman in Northern Samar and Siquijor enabling mobile services.
The telecommunications giant, in a press statement yesterday, December 27, said more areas are seeing significant progress in network repairs across Visayas and Mindanao.
“Globe through the help of local government units (LGUs) have made it possible to hasten restoration efforts across different provinces hit by Typhoon Odette,” it added.
Meanwhile, the firm also reported that Globe and TM customers were able to raise some P665,520 in funds intended for those who were affected by the recent onslaught of the typhoon.
Likewise, Globe, along with its partners from Ayala Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, and Rise Against Hunger Philippines have since reached 5,484 families in Loboc, Bohol; Buenavista, Agusan del Norte; General Luna, Siargao, and Butuan.
Donation channels are still open through the New GlobeOne app or GCash platform where people can donate their Globe Rewards points or use the #GCashGivesBack QR Codes of partner-beneficiaries.
In the bid to keep Filipinos connected, Globe also set up 51 Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging stations in affected regions.
“Globe is ensuring that our kababayans stay connected this Christmas with several locations of Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging (LTLC) stations in Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan,” the company said.
It is also providing free and unlimited GoWiFi in select malls, government offices and airports in Visayas and Mindanao areas affected by Typhoon Odette.
