THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Davao Region (DENR-Davao) launched a special checkpoint that will monitor anti-environmental crimes.

In a press release, DENR-Davao launched its four Anti-Environmental Crimes Task Force (AECTF) checkpoints on December 21 to 22, 2021.

The agency said the AECTF checkpoints will monitor transported forest products, wildlife, mineral ores, sand and gravel, hazardous and toxic substances, among others.

The four checkpoints are strategically located along junctions that capture incoming routes from neighboring provinces and regions, namely in Barangay Puntalinao, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental; Barangay Carmen in Boston, still in Davao Oriental; Barangay Ngan, Compostela in Davao de Oro; and Km. 48, Barangay Canocotan in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

The creation of the AECTF checkpoints is in compliance with the instructions of DENR-Davao Director Bagani Fidel A. Evasco, Assistant Secretary for Field Operations for Mindanao and Legislative Affairs Joan A. Lagunda, and Assistant Regional Executive Director for Technical Services Victor T. Billiones. RGL
