NUEVA Ecija’s Michael Mabulac was named the Most Valuable Player of the Chooks-to-Go Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Invitational on Dec. 22, 2021, Wednesday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Mabulac narrowly beat Cebuano Macmac Tallo for the coveted plum as he averaged 13.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists during the elimination round. Because of his stellar numbers, Nueva Ecija was able to sweep all four of their games in Group C. This MVP award is the second for Mabulac in 2021 after he was awarded the Chooks-to-Go VisMin Super Cup Finals MVP earlier this year.

Tallo, who averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in the pool phase, got a spot on the All-MPBL team and was joined by Imus-Buracai De Laiya’s Adi Santos, Pasig-Sta. Lucia’s Fran Yu, and Basilan-Jumbo Plastic Medical Depot’s Michael Juico.
