Mabalacat City declares ‘zero active cases’ status

By Reynaldo G. Navales

MABALACAT City has finally recorded its zero Covid-19 active cases status following the recovery of its lone patient in Barangay Dau on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

Based on the bulletin posted by the city’s Covid-19 Response Integrated System (CRIS), the city currently has zero active cases (0 percent), 7,009 recoveries (97 percent), and 227 mortalities (3 percent).

According to City Covid-19 Response Chief Implementer Dr. Jose Antonio Rivera, Mabalacat’s current pandemic status is an affirmation of its effective Covid-19 response and no letup vaccination drive.

“Though this manifests good news, we should never let our guards down. Patuloy po tayong maging mapagmatyag at maingat upang hindi na tumaas pang muli ang mga kaso ng Covid sa ating siyudad,” he said.

As of December 20, the City Government has administered a cumulative total of 439,825 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Of this number, a total of 393,466 doses were allocated for its target population, 16,216 doses for its Walk-In Program (residents and non-residents), and 11,168 doses for the city’s pediatric population.

The local government has also administered 7,697 booster shots for its eligible population.

For his part, Mayor Crisostomo Garbo urged his fellow Mabalaqueños to celebrate safely and responsibly in the wake of the festive holiday season.

The Mabalacat City Government recently joined the Department of Health’s (DOH) call for a responsible celebration of the holidays through the “Ligtas Christmas sa Health Pilipinas” campaign.
