FORMER Negros Occidental Third District congressman Alfredo “Albee” Benitez has cancelled the house and lot package, which is supposed to be the grand prize on his 55th birthday raffle held at SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City Monday, December 20, 2021.

The house and lot package is worth P1.5 million.

“(Instead), we will spread it out to those whose houses were damaged due to the Typhoon Odette that also affected the city (and) those who are still staying at the evacuation centers,” Benitez said.

Benitez is also a consultant of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental. His birthday celebration is anchored on the theme “Celebration of Hope.”

He gave out grocery packs, mobile phones, motorcycles and brand new cars during the raffle which was electronically done.

Benitez, who is a mayoralty aspirant, reiterated that housing is one of his top priorities for Bacolod City.

The former lawmaker said he wishes to provide a house for every Bacolod resident, who can be a model citizen and responsible member of the community.

Healthcare as his priority, Benitez said he plans to forge a memorandum of agreement with the private hospitals in the city to accept and admit the patients.

These hospitals should offer government standard rate so that government funding could also be utilized, he said.
