24,000 Arayateño families get Christmas packs
THOUSANDS of families in Arayat town have started receiving food packs from the Pampanga Provincial Government in time for the Christmas celebration.
Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino, who facilitated the distribution in behalf of Governor Dennis Pineda, said a total of 24,656 food packs are being distributed starting last weekend to all households in the municipality.
Each food pack contains one kilo of hotdogs, two dressed chickens and five kilos of rice, the mayor said.
“Napakalaking bagay nitong ayuda lalo na ngayon na nasa pandemic pa tayo at unti-unti palang bumabangon ang lahat. Itong mga food pack ay kumpleto na dahil may kanin at ulam na,” he said.
Former Executive Assistant to the Governor and first lady Madeth “Madir” Alejandrino, for her part, expressed gratitude to Pineda for the continuous assistance he gives to Arayateños.
She said Pineda did not only gift Arayateños a simple food pack but rather the spirit of Christmas as they will have something to share together during the Noche Buena.
“Mahigit 24,000 ang pamilya dito sa Arayat at lahat iyon ng mabibigyan ng maagang pamasko ni Governor Delta Pineda. Ibig sabihin lahat ng pamilya ay may pagsasaluhan ngayong darating na Noche Buena,” she said.
Meanwhile, aside from the Arayateño families, all barangay workers also received five kilos of rice each from the Alejandrino family.
She said the gifts are their way of thanksgiving for the efforts, sacrifices and support of the barangay workers in ensuring the peace and order in their community.
