By Deneb R. Batucan
NEARING three decades in the shipping industry, Cokaliong Shipping Lines Inc. launched the newest addition to its growing line of vessels: the M/V Filipinas Jagna.
The state-of-the-art roll-on/roll-off passenger vessel was blessed and inaugurated last month, and starting November this year will be serving the Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Jagna routes.
Following the ribbon cutting during the inauguration of M/V Filipinas Jagna, guests were given the chance to tour the enormous top-notch ship.
The M/V Filipinas Jagna features ultramodern navigational equipment and is the second ship to have a computerized engine monitoring system in the Cokaliong fleet. What’s more, it is classed with international classification society Registro Italiano Navale of Italy, making half of CSLI fleet internationally classed.
It is something that its chief executive officer and chief operating officer, Chester C. Cokaliong, is particularly proud of. CSLI is a local shipping lines but has internationally classed ships, making it truly the country’s ideal shipping line.
