A Frenchman, Movenpick’s new general manager is seen to give Cebu a new feel, a vogue and exuberant aura that is both enticing to guests and will make them feel good and cozy during their stay. All these starts with the new menu.

“For Food and Beverage, we have worked on a brand new menu, a new concept. We even enterprised a lot,” Rainfroy said.

Food and Beverage Manager Jeryl Tio said the new Sails menu offers a perfect balance and combination of comfort food inspired by popular as well as Continental cuisines.

Courses in the menu include Amuse Bouche, Pumpkin Soup, Seafood Tabouleh, Wasabi Prawns, Garden Rosti, Capricciosa, Penang Salmon, Bibimbap, Sukiyaki, and its very own Moevenpick Ice Cream with eight lush flavors.

“It’s a culinary voyage where flavors are true, unmasked and authentic,” said Tio. “The menu is composed of ten different Asian cuisines, including Japanese, Malaysian, Korean, and all other popular Asian dishes we’re going to serve, including the Movenpick ice cream.”

The launch saw live performances of Latin, Brazilian, Broadway, Movie Musical, Pop and Retro-themed dance numbers inspired from famous musicals and famous songs from movies by the Ibiza Entertainment Team at the Ibiza Beach Club, the hotel’s signature dining and entertainment space.

The Ibiza Beach Club offers authentic Balearic style Churrasco and Mediterranean tapas where around 15 course dishes in the menu can be savored. As for entertainment, disco night fever is on with DJ’s keeping up the beat, and bands serenading the night on Tuesdays and Sundays. In 2016, they are looking forward to having Ibiza Beach Club in Boracay.

“We will push behind the old and do more DJ concepts like afternoon DJs with more people partying on Saturdays and Sundays,” said Rainfroy, who pledged there will be more great things to come at the Mövenpick Hotel. (Verona Ann Entoma/UP Cebu Mass Comm Intern)
