WAFER Models Philippines hosted a media gathering for reigning Miss Philippines–Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell as part of her homecoming to the queen city. The Cebuana who started her career with the said agency, bagged the prestigious crown last May 11 and will be representing the Philippines on Miss Earth come November.
In the gathering last May 22, Jamie said she has always dreamed of joining both pageants because of its advocacy toward environmental awareness, a cause she feels strongly about. “(Miss Philippines) is the pageant I’ve always wanted to join,” she said. “Growing up, my mom who is kind of a tree-hugger, taught me to love the earth and to treasure it.”
The 19-year-old is presently an acting student under a scholarship in the International Academy of Film & Television. Prior to joining Miss Philippines, Jamie was hailed Sinulog Festival Queen, Reyna Ng Aliwan, and Miss Mega Cebu in 2013.
Wafer Models Philippines founder Marlon Garcia Wafer said that he discovered Jamie in a Santacruzan event several years ago. Since then the young beauty has starred in fashion shows and advertorials, which eventually led to her thriving stint in pageantry. (FSE)
