South Korea’s Ssangyong wows Cebu

CEBU gains yet another top-of-the-line choice for automobiles, no less than South Korea’s fourth largest car manufacturer. Ssangyong Berjaya Motor Philippines is now here in Cebu, with its first dealership in the Visayas and Mindanao.

From being suppliers of military jeeps years back, today Ssangyong’s forte are sports utility vehicles or SUVs — compact, durable cars with high engine power that promises a smooth and comfortable drive.

“You feel the driving comfort with stylish and comfortable seats and the space and leg room you rarely find in other brands. Of course there’s the smooth drive and engine power. It’s really a top-of-the-line car,” said Roy Silverio, operations manager of Ssangyong.

At the Ssangyong Cebu showroom on Gorordo Ave., Cebu City are five of of their European-inspired vehicles: Tivoli, Korando, Tivoli XLV and Rodius. All these are SUVs, with Tivoli as the smallest and Rodius as the largest, which a seat capacity of three variants: 7, 9 and 11-seater.

Joined by Ssangyong executives, members of Cebu media got a first-hand quality experience aboard a fleet of Ssangyong vehicles during a “ride and drive” event from the showroom all the way to West 35 Eco Mountain Resort in Balamban, and back.

Roy stresses that Ssangyong’s direction is to place trust to their brand by having more events, test drives to prove them noteworthy as a top choice for cars for Cebuanos. Because of this, Ssangyong will be one of the exhibitors at SunStar’s Best of Cebu Party this coming May 19 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Several Ssangyong cars will be displayed during the party at the Grand Ballroom as well as a number of activities designed to know more about the various cars of Ssangyong, and outside, guests can test drive any of the Ssangyong cars, gearing for a great driving experience. SunStar Best of Cebu Party will start at 6 p.m.
