Autowelt Cebu introduces BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé

DEPENDING on where you’re from, coupe can either be pronounced as “koop” or “koo-pay.” One of the trivia dished at Autowelt BMW Cebu’s cocktail event held last Aug. 24, this tidbit is particularly useful to take note of if you plan to get the latest model that joined the dealership’s lineup, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé.
Unveiled in an exclusive gathering of BMW patrons and enthusiasts, the 4 Series Gran Coupé is the latest model to join the Series 4 range, and the first four-door coupe in the premium mid-size segment—combining the sleek look of a sports car with the practical functionality of a four-door vehicle.
The new model maintains the luxury car brand’s iconic double-kidney grille at the front. Then distinguishing it from the other models in the 4 series is its emphasized coupe styling with extended roofline and four frameless doors tied together seamlessly.
Power, elegance and more
The new coupe boasts of a 2.0 liter four-cylinder diesel engine, coupled with an eight-speed steptronic (dual) transmission and TwinPower Turbo technology. The brand also claims that its high-power engine can deliver up to 184 horsepower, a combined fuel consumption of 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers, and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 7.5 seconds.
As for its interiors, the 4 Series Gran Coupé displays an elegant and ergonomically designed steering wheel and dashboard, which allows the driver quick access to all controls including buttons for its 6.5-inch LCD infotainment screen, the BMW iDrive Controller. Going further back, the adjustable seats are equipped with memory function, while the trunk has an automatic opening and closing mechanism and a volume capacity of 1,300 liters.
Sport or luxury?
The new 4 Series Gran Coupé is available in sport and luxury lines, each having its own distinct aesthetic features. The sports line has black finished exterior elements, star-spoke wheels, and interiors accented in coral red. The luxury line has multi-spoke wheels, exteriors done in chrome, and walnut-colored interiors.
As it merges the sleek design of a coupe with the features of a premium four-door vehicle, the new 4 Series Gran Coupé will undoubtedly cater to the preference of a variety of drivers—marking it another superb creation from the auto brand.
