A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was injured after she was shot by their neighbor in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City on Monday, December 27.

Major Joery Puerto, commander of Police Station 8, said Tuesday, December 28, that the victim, whose name is withheld for being a minor, sustained wound on her body after she was shot by Marvin Viso.

The victim was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and is now in stable condition.

Investigation showed a heated argument ensued between Viso, a fish vendor, and Jeffrey Hapitana, 18, uncle of the victim, inside the latter’s house past 1 p.m.

Puerto said the victim, who just woke up, tried to pacify them but Viso took his improvised firearm and shot her.

Viso fled on board his tricycle. Recovered from the crime scene were an empty fired cartridge of a 12 gauge shotgun and live ammunition.

Personnel of Police Station 8 are still conducting manhunt operation to arrest the suspect, who will be charged with frustrated murder.
