Meet the Mini
Mini Cebu brings driving to a new level of fun, safety and efficiency

THERE was an urge not a few people felt upon seeing two Minis on display during the launch of the British car brand at the Ayala Center Cebu last Oct. 9.
And this was to hop on the driver’s seat of one of the Minis and take that thing of absolute compact coolness for a spin, well, even inside the mall. That just couldn’t be possible of course, but that’s just proof of the Mini’s mythical drawing power.
Lyndon Go, president of Mini Cebu, knows just why, and the answer couldn’t be any simpler.
“It’s a fun, safe and efficient car,” Lyndon pointed out.
Yet there is nothing simple about the engineering feat behind the two small cars on display – the Mini Hatch Mini Cooper S and the Mini Cooper Paceman.
The Mini Cooper S flaunts “top-class go-kart handling” with maximum power and efficiency. In the looks department, its distinctive black hexagon-look radiator grille, 16-inch light-alloy wheels, sturdy rear spoiler, and a central dual tailpipe give it that natural sporty appeal.
The interiors are just as impressive – 50:50 split-folding rear seats that allow room for four people plus luggage, an eye-popping instrument panel with signature ellipse design, and customizable electronics and communication equipment.
Similarly, the Mini Cooper Paceman is one stylish crossover coupe: a sloping roofline, elongated doors, wide set lights and prominent grill make it a class of its own.
With the Rear Seat Concept of providing two individual seats in the back, passengers get the same level of comfort as those in front. Plus, it has a Centre Rail where you can hook up your gadgets.

Every Mini has a rigid chassis body coupled with danger sensors and an Automatic Stability Control + Traction system that makes this road charmer one safe ride, not to mention a 122 hp powerplant output and efficient fuel consumption of 5.1 at 1/100 km.

Apart from the Mini Hatch and Mini Paceman, other models that Mini Cebu distributes are the Mini Clubman, Mini Coupe, Mini Roadster, Mini Cabriolet, Mini Countryman and Limited Edition John Copper Works GP. Prices range from P1.9 million to P3.9 million.

Lyndon says Mini orders can be delivered from as early as five days up to five months, depending on the availability of the vehicle, custom specifications, and shipping from Europe.
There’s still time to admire the Minis on display at the Paseo Verde at Ayala Center Cebu until Sunday. If not, check out Auto Global Inc.’s Mini Cebu showroom on A.S. Fortuna St., Mandaue City. (NSV)
